Mark Wedge - Deisheetaan
ELDER TRUSTEE
MARK WEDGE or Aan Goosh oo was born in Yukon and currently resides in Tagish on the traditional territory of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation. Aan Goosh oo is of Tagish/Tlingit/Caucasian origins, belonging to the Deisheetaan (Beaver) Clan of the Yeiti (Crow) moiety. In addition to being a Trustee of nine years for the Carcross Tagish First Nation Dáanaa Jíli Trust, Aan Goosh oo sits on the Yukon University Board of Governors, is Chair of “How We Walk with the Land and Water” as well as the Tagish River Habitat Committee addressing the future of the Southern Lakes region and works on transboundary negotiations with CTFN’s land claims agreements.

Previously, Mark served as Khà Shâde Héni (Chief) of the Carcross/Tagish First Nation and Executive Director for the Council of Yukon Indians. He has also been a negotiator for various First Nations in the settlement of land claims.

Aan Goosh oo has served as President and Chairman of Yukon Indian Development Corporation and Dana Naye Ventures. He has also served with the National Roundtable on the Economy and Environment, Western Aboriginal Economic Development Board, National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association, National Aboriginal Business Association, a Board of Director for First Nations Bank of Canada Board and Trust, and several other regional aboriginal and corporate boards. He provides consulting, training and dispute resolution services to governments and organizations in both Canada and the United States.
